Summer is only part of the story. Whether you want to fish for Chinook, learn about prawning or experience pulling a crab trap, tell Randy what interests you most. He will discuss a practical plan for your date and trip length.
Your charter is private for up to four guests aboard the 26-foot Seaswirl Striper walkaround. Departures are from Sunshine Beach Marina in Nanoose Bay, near Parksville. Meeting details and departure times are confirmed personally.
No two days are identical. These are activities to plan around—not a promise that every departure includes all three or produces a particular catch.

Winter Chinook fishing
Make salmon fishing the focus of your colder-season outing. Randy plans around local opportunities, weather and the regulations applying to your fishing area. Ask about suitable dates rather than assuming summer conditions or retention rules carry into winter.
Prawning
Experience the anticipation of bringing a prawn trap to the surface. Let Randy know if prawning is a priority so it can be considered when planning the route, equipment and time available.
Dungeness crabbing
Get a closer look at another part of the coastal fishing experience. Crabbing opportunities depend on the location, conditions and current restrictions; only legal catch may be retained.
Fall and spring bring their own possibilities. Randy will help you choose a fishing-focused trip or a mixed coastal outing that fits the day.

Displayed regular totals below are in Canadian dollars for the whole boat, for up to four guests—not per person. Each includes the $25 fuel surcharge: six hours $975 + $25 = $1,000; eight hours $1,275 + $25 = $1,300. Do not add another fuel charge. Existing bookings and agreed quotes are honoured. 6-hour Extended Charter — $1,000 per boat
A useful starting point for planning a seasonal fishing outing, with time to consider fishing and trap activities together. Discuss your priorities with Randy; the final combination depends on conditions and opportunities.
Rods, reels, tackle and bait are supplied, with cleaning and bagging of legal retained fish. Discuss food and drinks before departure.

More time and flexibility to plan around your interests. Breakfast sandwiches and a BBQ lunch are included, along with fishing equipment and cleaning and bagging of legal retained fish.
In colder months, ask about suitable departure times and daylight when discussing an eight-hour outing. A longer trip is not a guarantee of more catch.

Before you book
Plan for the season.
- Send your preferred dates, group size, fishing experience and the activities you most want to try.
- Bring warm layers, waterproof outerwear and non-slip footwear. Discuss comfort, boarding and mobility needs beforehand.
- The boat has a portable toilet in the closable cuddy for privacy. Dress for time outdoors on the water.
- Arrange the required fishing licences and any applicable salmon stamp. Ask Randy if you need help finding the right information.
- Weather, daylight, closures and current fishing regulations determine what is practical. Catch and retention are not guaranteed.
